Almost at the end! I have really enjoyed this week, I've put some outfits together that I wouldn't usually wear to work. Twice, my coworkers said "are you off to meet clients, or like going to dinner or something?". Nah, I just did my hair... Nope, just wearing cool stockings. .. Monday: Back to the old faithful Gable Top. Cannot get enough. Out of everything I've worn through May, I think this pattern has had the most exposure. Pants are from Hell Bunny and I need to sew on all the buttons again. How come they always fall off?! Tuesday: Simplicity 3688 - pants this time! The pattern is nice and simple, but I do need to fix the crotch length. They are great standing pants... Not so great for sitting. Just a couple of inches extra length should be fine. These are made from a mystery poly something and blogged about before here. Wednesday: Very 40s today. I was proud of my hair. The blouse is a lovely 80s does 40s style bought from eBay. It fits my broad shoulders. And it's long enough in the sleeves! There is so much delight in a well fitting blouse. The skirt is the sister of the above pants, Simplicity 3688 (blogged here). Unmentionables and seams are by What Katie Did. The shoes are just out of frame, but they are the Gatsby Heel from Kitten D'Amour. Not entirely comfortable for walking, but very pretty. Thursday: Skipping an entire decade, let's jump into the 60s! This my Delphine Skirt by Tilly & The Buttons. It is from her book Love at First Stitch. It's a fantastic resource that walks through lots of techniques from beginner to intermediate. The white stockings are from ages ago, and the shoes are by B.A.I.T. Please, get more Australian retailers to stock this brand. Let's all sign a petition. Friday: A pretty casual cowl neck dress/top by Sew Over It. Very easy to whip up (I made it last weekend). It's comfortably and drapey, though I should have added ribbon to stabilise the shoulders. Oh well, next time! Saturday: Finally, a delightfully lazy day. I even caught a quick nap on the couch in the sun, knitting on my lap. I was working on my second Jan Sweater (Ravelry here) which I had totally forgotten about! Happy to say that I cast off one of the bodice pieces, and now just got the other side to do. The sleeves have already been completed. (Note: the front and back bodice piece are exactly the same). It's crumpled because I didn't store it properly. My bad. Sunday: Rounding out the week with another trip to the 60s. This is my black Coco by Tilly & The Buttons. Very easy to make, I highly recommend it. This black poly Ponte knit fabric is absolutely useless. It is cold, lets the wind through and generates a bit of static. But it's still cute. Also, I made the earrings. There are only three more days left of Me Made May. Sad. I will do a proper wrap up next week, but I have really enjoyed this week of Me Made-ness. Bring on the next three days!
