I have so much love for Coco by Tilly and the Buttons. So. Much. Love. Coco is a really fast and easy pattern. So far, I have made the top version with a ponte fabric in a deep wine colour, and of course a classic black. Plans for many more! The collar and cuffs are brilliant and easy to attach. I made the size 4 for a 36" bust and the fit is great. The black version is very beatnik. I dig. My version does not have a side seam splits. Honestly, I sort of forgot. But I like how sleek it looks without them. This pattern is a win. I finished the black beatnik version today in about 4 hours or so. Including having a hard-boiled egg and avo smash for lunch. Instant reward project. It feels cozy. It looks cozy. It IS cozy. Get into it. Further down the track I might sew up the dress version, but right now this little top is satisfying my 60s urge.

It's finished! It's been gifted! Now I can post about it. The above photo is an accurate representation of the colour. The rest of the pictures are way too pink. P.S: Love my 'made by m' tags. It's a 3-month-old size, just in time for the winter. It does look super adorable. The 4 ply merino dreamtime yarn by Patons is an absolutely delight. So soft and squishy. Just like babies. It's a slashneck sweater with a button fastening. The sleeves are apparently long, but how long are the arms of a baby? I don't know. The lace pattern matches up perfectly when sewn with mattress stitch. If you haven't got into seaming with mattress stitch, you don't know what you're missing. I must admit, it's much easier after you can 'read' your knitting and know exactly what stitch you are working on. This was made to the pattern, no changes or additions.
The pattern is from a Patons book Patons #1271, Modern Classic Baby Knits. It a really cute little book. I've made both the fern lace patterns (see the first one on Ravelry here). If I have to make yet another baby thing, it might be the bolero... Check out my Ravelry notes here. A while ago - I'm talking 2010 or so - I bought a Lady Tie from Etsy. Sadly, the store is no longer open. I wore said Lady Tie for the first time this week. And I loved it. Think I might have to copy a pattern from it an make a couple more. Would be good to use up little scraps of cotton. Not to the point where I drown in Lady Ties. Perhaps in some slightly different shapes too... LOOK HOW CUTE IT IS! Blouse: Uniqlo
